Title SVP, Risk Management

Reports To EVP, Strategy & Corporate Development

The Job

We're seeking a successful Senior Vice President of Risk Management to join our team. They will be responsible for ideating and creating strategies, controls, and measures to monitor and mitigate the risk of asset exposures. They will also oversee the structure and execution of hedge strategies covering digital currencies and power portfolios.

Responsibilities

  • Proven ability to Identify, analyze, and model financial risks of digital currencies and power portfolios.
  • Analyze portfolio positions and quantify potential budget variances and other standard risk metrics.
  • Structure prudent risk reduction measures through hedging strategies and derivative products.
  • Develop hedging recommendations and execute commodity derivative transactions.
  • Develop and implement robust risk management policies and systems.
  • Provide support to Accounting and FP&A on derivatives/settlement accounting.
  • Demonstrate thought leadership in the research and development of emerging issues and solutions impacting commodity risk management.
  • Leverage problem-solving and analytical skills to enhance and automate risk processes.
  • Foster open, respectful, and professional communication directly within the team and with co-workers/teammates and leaders across the organization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in finance or economics or other related field required; Master's preferred.
  • 10 years of progressively responsible experience in risk management and front/middle (trading, marketing, trading controls) office roles.
  • Experience in structuring/trading or treasury financial risk management role.
  • Exceptional people management skills and proven ability to build a collaborative team culture.
  • Demonstrated ability to conceptualize and drive a team's strategic direction.
  • Strong technical knowledge of market risk methodologies and techniques.
  • Experience in digital asset market.
  • Experience evaluating, summarizing, and communicating complex transactions.
  • Knowledge of energy markets, including electricity, natural gas, and renewables.
  • Ability to prioritize duties, multi-task, and adapt to changing business needs.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with various stakeholders, including executive leadership.
  • Work Environment

    This job operates in a remote environment. This position frequently uses computers, tablets and smartphones.

    Physical Demands

    This position frequently sits and stands for most of the day.

    Position Type/ Expected Hours of Work

    This is a full-time position. The general hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; however, evenings and weekends may be required.

    Minimal travel may be required.
